NDDB has undertaken measures to ensure that quality
of milk is maintained at the dairy and household levels.
A kit consisting of ready-to-use reagents has been developed
for use at village level milk collection centres and
dairy reception docks. The kit consists of reagents
that can be used to detect the presence of urea, ammonia,
mixed fertilisers, nitrate fertilisers, pond water,
starch and cereal flours, sucrose, glucose, salt, neutralisers,
hydrogen peroxide and formalin.
Another kit for use at household
level has been developed which can test presence of
urea, neutraliser, starch and cereal flours and hydrogen
peroxide.
